Assessment scope includes collection from Kriel, strip/clean, electrical testing of stator and rotor, mechanical component assessment, investigation, failure-prevention proposals and work scope. Failure report and QCP due within 5 working days after collection; emergency failure report due within 48 hours; QCP must be approved before repair work. Testing must be in line with SANS 10242-1, with Eskom right to inspect/witness tests; test certificates required. Mandatory technical gatekeepers: 12-month workmanship warranty letter signed by company GM, valid SABS ISO 9001:2015 certificate for MV induction motor repairs in terms of SANS 60034 with South African accreditation, and valid Department of Labour electrical contractor registration. Desktop technical threshold is 70%; companies passing desktop evaluation will be visited for site evaluation. Site evaluation rules: 3 working days to accept inspection invitation, 10 working days to confirm date, and no cancellation within 48 hours before inspection. Qualitative technical criteria include proof of qualifications 20, quality/QCP 10, lead time to execute works 30, plus other criteria in the strategy. Key personnel include senior supervisor/technologist registered with ECSA, qualified electrician, qualified winder and qualified fitter, with certified qualifications, CVs and signed employment proof. Materials requirements include approved bearing brands, specified lubricants, OEM fans/heat exchangers/terminal boxes unless otherwise stated, clear terminal marking, no sandblasting/chemical cleaning, DD baked or VPI varnishing, anti-rust treatment of shafts and thermistor installation requirements.
